FRESHART SF

Finding Walls for your Art: a service for Artists & Art for your walls: a resource for businesses

FRESHART SF is a labor of love founded by San Francisco Artist Georgianne Fastaia, who
has been helping her colleagues exhibit their work in alternative venues in an effort to
support the independence of the working artist since 2005

I created FRESHART SF as a COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE FOR BUSINESSES

To present Artists I admire to venues showcasing local art
To create a user friendly online portfolio of exhibiting artists
To assist in coordinating a rotation of Art for local venues

And as a SERVICE FOR ARTISTS:

To provide artists with exhibition and low-commission sales opportunities
serve as a resource: assisting Artists with promotion, marketing and referrals

TO BRING ART TO THE PUBLIC EYE, FACILITATE SALES and PROMOTE GOODWILL

FRESHART SF relies on the Honor system. Sales go through the Artist.
My commission is based on the benefit I bring to the Artist by cultivating relationships in the community which provide artists with opportunities to sell their work directly to the public

HISTORY

I am an Artist selling my work through alternative venues including Starbucks, Arterra, The Barber Lounge, The Front Porch, and Philz Coffee
I coordinate the art as a free service to these merchants in exchange for the opportunity to showcase local Artists like myself.

FEES & COMMISSIONS ensure that the project stays viable (see Artist Contract for details)

GEORGIANNE FASTAIA

BIOGRAPHY

Georgianne Fastaia was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1964. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from San Francisco State University in 1988 with a degree in Creative Writing. Her mother; an art teacher, encouraged Georgianne to follow her passion and to take art seriously. Self-taught, she began painting in 2001 and has sold her work directly to the public through alternative venues, cafés and restaurants since 2002. Using her experience as Open Studios Director, she created FRESHART SF: an art consulting service bringing artists and businesses together. Recent projects include “Organica”: a three women show at San Francisco’s first Green Housing Community: ARTERRA, as well as OFF THE WALL at The Barber Lounge.

Her involvement in the Arts is built upon extensive volunteer experience, most notably The Hillcrest Elementary Mural project for which she received a grant from the Phillips 66 corporation. The project garnered her invitation as guest lecturer at the John Swett Unified School District Board meeting. A writer and public speaker, she is an eloquent advocate for the arts. She is a member of Art Span, a Visual Aid Grant recipient, and a contributing writer for Mission Arts Monthly, The Painters Keys and a guest reviewer at Art business.

An accomplished Painter, she has had many successful Solo Exhibitions in galleries throughout Northern and Southern California and her Art is in private collections across the country. Her work has been featured in Artweek Magazine, The SF Chronicle, and prominently featured in the July 2009 issue of ELLE Décor magazine.
